Treadmill Repair – The 3 Key Elements You Need to Know in Order to Keep Your Treadmill Working!
2. Service Treadmill Motor and Motor Controller
3. Have a Professional Company Come Out
Wax the Treadmill Deck
Question…Would you drive your car for a whole year and never change the oil in it? I’m guessing the answer is NO! If you did, your motor would most likely blow up and you would have no car to drive.
Well, the same applies to your treadmill!
Your treadmill may go longer than a year without wax, but it really depends on how often you use it. Just like motor oil to a car, the same goes for your treadmill. The wax on the deck and more importantly, the type of wax is key to keeping the motor cool and running properly.
You want to make sure that you are applying wax to your deck about 2-3 times a year. If you are using your treadmill everyday, then you definitely need to make sure you are doing this.
The funny thing is, most retailers that sell the treadmills won’t tell you this. This is because they want you to buy their treadmill and never see you again! But, as a service company, we know what keeps treadmills from breaking down and saving you from having to learn the hard way and go buy another one!
Do yourself a favor now! Get yourself a great wax and apply it every 3 months or as needed to your deck. The great news is, we sell one that is affordable and has been proven to beat out every other wax on the market for effectiveness and ease of use!

Clean out the Treadmill motor compartment
2. The other main key element to keeping your treadmill in great shape and lasting you as long as possible is to clean out the motor compartment. This means, if you have a shop vacuum, to get that and blow out the dirt and debris that collects on the motor controller and the motor itself.
You would be blown away at what we have found in these motor compartments of treadmills! Things like a volleyball, ipods, rats, mice, etc! When the dirt collects on the motor controller, if it goes too long, it can fry the board. Be sure to open up this compartment at least 2-3 times a year! Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter in this area if you are using it or not. Dirt collects no matter what!
Still not sure? Hire a Treadmill Repair Professional
3. If you don’t want to do it yourself, make sure you hire someone that is professional and knows what they are doing when it comes to servicing and maintaining your treadmill! I’m sure you don’t want to have to spend more money than you have to! So do your research and make sure they are a reputable company. Get it done right and you will be more confident that you will have a treadmill that will last you a long time! The bonus to knowing a great service company is if the treadmill does need to be repaired, they most likely will carry the parts to replace whatever is wrong with it.
