I recently tried a Cross Fit class for the first time and I really enjoyed it. It was very different from any workout I have ever done. But oh boy, was I sore!!! Have you ever tried it? What are your thoughts?
In my area there seems to be so many Cross Fit gyms around it really seems to be a big buzz right now. I see stickers on the back of cars, people wearing T-shirts and pass by many local locations regularly. So when my friend invited me to a “Bring Your Friend Day” at her location I said, “I am scared but I am going to do it!” Why was I scared? I work out 4-5 days a week. I have ran 7 half marathons. But still, not knowing what Cross Fit was all about I was a little scared and quite honestly a little intimidated. However, I am glad I went and had a great workout!
Part of my reservation of attending the class my friend invited me to was that I did not know what it was all about. So, today I want to help inform you of what it is so when your friend invites you, you won’t be scared or intimidated like I was!
From my visit to the local Cross Fit gym and from research, I have found that The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. They scale the load and intensity but will not change the workouts. I also found this journal entry for you to learn a little bit more about Cross Fit.. http://journal.crossfit.com/2007/04/understanding-crossfit-by-greg.tpl
Enjoy your day and don’t forget to get that workout in!
